Parents who choose to make monthly instalments must pay the remaining amount of the month at the time of withdrawal.
TUITION CONTRACT
- All fees are non-refundable and due at the time of registration. Student’s seat can only be held upon payment of $150 for registration fee.
- A $200 non refundable Service fee.
- Enrolments fees are accepted via cheque or e-transfer.
- A penalty fee of $50 will be charged for returned checks.
- Rates are subject to change. Changes in the tuition amount will be determined during the school year, and the increase will be announced if necessary.
- When you pay by cheque, tuition will be withdrawn from your account on the same day the cheque is dated for.
- In the event a student withdraws during the school year, all balances owed to the school will be due immediately. Parents who choose to make monthly instalments must pay the remaining amount of the month at the time of withdrawal.
Non-Payment/Late payment
In the event of non-payment and late payment of any Tuition or other fees owed to Maple Root Academy, the Academy may, in its sole discretion suspend the Student from classes, refuse to allow the Student to participate in school classes, and/or withhold the reporting transcripts, and grades by law. Payments that are 60 days late (or more) will result in further legal action.
Rejected Cheques
Rejected cheques will result in a penalty fee of $50.
Disputes
- We agree that in the event that Maple Root Academy becomes involved in any claim or dispute asserted by us, or on our behalf, regarding the Tuition Agreement and/or the education, suspension, or dismissal of the Student or we breach our obligations under this Agreement, and the Academy thereafter takes action to enforce its rights, then, in any event, we shall be obligated to reimburse the Academy for all its costs and expenses incurred, including reasonable attorney’s fees.
- Except as provided in (c) below, all controversies, claims, and disputes arising out of or relating to this Agreement, or the validity, interpretation, breach, violation, or termination thereof, shall be finally and solely determined by Arbitration in Mississauga, Ontario in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the City and this paragraph. Such arbitration shall be conducted by a panel of three arbitrators, one selected by the Academy, one selected by the Student’s parents, and the third appointed mutually by the arbitrators selected. The arbitrators may proceed to an award notwithstanding the failure of any party to participate in such proceedings. The award of the arbitrator shall be 1) the sole and exclusive remedy of the parties, 2) enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction, and 3) final and binding parties.
- Any action by the Academy to collect any unpaid Tuition or fees herein may, at the Academy’s election, be initiated in the Court of City of Mississauga in lieu of subjecting said claim to arbitration.
Payment Policies
Tuition fees cover all registration, tuition, capital and operating costs. Basic stationery supplies, workbooks, student folders are also covered by tuition fees.
Tuition Payment: For the school year (September to June)
- A first-month cheque dated the proposed entry date of your child (prorated if your child does not begin at the beginning of the month).
- A last-month, full tuition for June cheque – dated the proposed entry date of your child.
- Post-dated cheques dated the beginning of the month, for each month in between proposed entry date and the end of May.
